I’m in the Mood for Love

Posted by denniscaba on June 8, 2007 in Uncategorized |

I found out what I really want in life now. Nope…not money. (Well maybe it’s in close second place.) Romance…just romance. But unfortunately, I’m not getting any from my present relationship.

Stars are no longer shining

Posted by denniscaba on May 29, 2007 in Uncategorized |

It’s official: being are star in the Philippines no longer guarantees a place in the senate. And yes…Filipino voters are smarter today more than ever.

Cesar Montano, Richard Gomez and Tito Sotto are just some of the biggest losers in the previous May elections. Others like “Pacman” & Lito Lapid also lost but who cares? Hehehe.

The Pursuit of Happiness

Posted by denniscaba on March 15, 2007 in Uncategorized |

The Pursuit of Happiness

The theater in Sannomiya was packed with teary-eyed movie-goers yesterday when I went to see Will Smith’s “The Pursuit of Happiness.” And although I missed almost 30minutes of the 2-hour movie, the remaining 1.5hours was enough to make me cry all through the end too.

This very inspiring movie is based on the real-life story of Chris Gardner, the owner and CEO of Christopher Gardner International Holdings.

If you want to be uplift, feel good about yourself or be inspired, I suggest you see this movie. The story is very good and the acting is superb. 5 stars to Mr. Smith!

Watch Out Justin Timberlake: Here comes David Choi

There are some talented people out there who can make beautiful songs even with weird stuffs such as “fart” as inspiration. One of these is David Choi* who was featured recently on youtube for singing a sort of theme song of youtube called “Youtube (A Love Song).”And oh…he also won the grand prize (from among 9000 contestants!) of USA Weekend Magazine’s John Lennon Songwriting Contest for Teens and David Bowie’s Mash Up Contest.

I found a link to his myspace page where he posted some of his works. And although some of you might not like his song “Fart”, I’m sure you’d like “Remember” or “That Girl”. You may also check his youtube page where you can see him cover some popular songs including Britney Spears’ “Hit me Baby One more Time” which some may say: his version is better than the original. Hehehe!

*David Choi is the winner of the 2004 USA WEEKEND-John Lennon Songwriting Contest for Teens. The 18-year-old from Orange County, Calif., wrote “Can’t Stop Me,” whose catchy, poignant lyrics caught the attention of this year’s contest judges, Usher among them, beating out 9,007 other student entries from across the country.

Healthy Green

Posted by denniscaba on March 7, 2007 in Uncategorized |

I’ve always enjoyed Haagen Dazs’ Green Tea ice cream (available only in Japan). But I didn’t realized that green tea can give us health and beauty benefits too. According to the article 7 Reasons to Drink Green Tea, drinking green tea reduces cancer risk, steadies your blood pressure and even helps us loose weight! And more…it soothes you skin so you can stay young and beautiful.

Japanese drink green tea just as much as we drink coke back home. And you can see that they are among those with the longest life expentancy in the world. So I suggest you make it a habit to drink green tea [even if you don't enjoy its bitter taste]. Just remember, it’s good for you!

Instant Starbucks?!

Posted by denniscaba on February 25, 2007 in Uncategorized |

The moment I saw Doutour’s coffee at 7/11 [convenience store] months ago, I knew that Starbucks has to do something about it. And they did!

Yesterday when I went to AM/PM to grab something to eat, I was surprised to see starbucks’ latte sitting beside my favorite milk tea. But it’s still pricey as usual. US$2.00??! And they only have cold ones. But at least I don’t have to travel 30minutes & US$10 to enjoy it. ;)

Straight Men are Boring

Posted by denniscaba on February 23, 2007 in Uncategorized |

As of today, I have yet to meet an interesting straight guy. You see the thing is: when I meet someone really interesting (in the sense that he talks about things, that interest me e.g. penis; hehehe!), I will assume that he’s gay. And when I start to yawn* the moment he starts talking about intelligent stuffs like human anatomy, for example, I will immediately conclude that he’s straight. And I’m right most of the time!

The same thing goes with fashion…which probably makes my friend Anthony straight based on my definition. (Just kidding!)

Now I’m telling you that I’d probably fall in love with the first straight man I meet with the qualities of a gay man.

*Yawning is usually not my way of showing my lack of interest on other people.

What’s up Bro?

Posted by denniscaba on February 22, 2007 in Uncategorized |

I just found out this morning that my brother (now in the US or somewhere) called me 8 times between 10:30PM(yesterday) to 2:30AM(today). Which reminds me to sleep late again deactivate (what’s a better word?) “Silent Mode” or as Japanese called them…“Manner Mode”.

Now I feel like I have no manners for not returning his call (which I couldn’t right now because of the time difference).

Why was he calling me at that late hours anyway? What’s the urgency bro? Hmmm…
